The countdown for the Higher Secondary (Class 12) Examination has begun! For lakhs of Science, Arts, and Commerce students under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), the Admit Card is the most critical document. Without it, entry into the exam hall is strictly prohibited.
Unlike Class 10, the Class 12 Admit Card carries vital information about your Subject Combination and Practical Exam Centers. Therefore, checking it carefully is more important than just downloading it.
📅 HS Admit Card Release Date (2026)
As per the Council’s latest trends, the admit cards are released approximately 15 days before the theory exams.
- 🗓️ School Download Date: Last Week of January 2026
- 🗓️ Student Distribution: 1st Week of February 2026 (Tentative)
- 🗓️ Exam Starts: Mid-February 2026

🚫 Is Online Download Available for Students?
Strictly NO. The WBCHSE does not provide any direct download link for students. The “Admit Card Download” link on the official portal is locked and accessible only to School Principals via User ID and Password. You must collect the hard copy from your school.
School Login vs Student Collection 🏫
Even though you can’t download it, knowing the Collection Process is vital to avoid last-minute panic. In the next section, we will share the Direct Link for Schools and the checklist for students.
The Distribution Process 🏫
The admit card distribution for Class 12 is a two-step process. First, the Council uploads the data for schools. Then, schools verify the subject combinations and hand over the hard copies to students.
🅰️ For School Principals (Login Guide)
School authorities can download the Admit Cards in bulk (PDF format) using their Institution Code.

- Step 2: Navigate to the “Institution Login” section.

🅱️ For Students (Collection Checklist)
Students must visit their school office on the notified date (usually 1st week of February). Before you sign the receiving register, check these details:
- Name Spelling: Check every letter against your Registration Certificate.
- Subject Codes: This is critical. Ensure your Elective Subjects (e.g., BIOS, COMS, NUTR) are correct.
- Exam Centre: Note down the venue name and address.
- Principal’s Signature: The card is invalid without the Head of Institution’s signature and school seal.
⚠️ Practical Admit Card?
For Science and Geography students: Usually, the Theory Admit Card is used for Practical Exams too. However, some schools issue a separate “Practical Signature Sheet”. Confirm this with your Lab Attendant.
Wrong Subject Printed? Don’t Panic! 😱
The biggest nightmare for an HS student is seeing “Maths” instead of “Biology” on the admit card. If this happens, you have very little time to fix it. In the next section, we will explain the Urgent Correction Process.
Wrong Subject Code Printed? 🚨
In HS exams, subject combinations (like BIOS, MATH, PHYS) are crucial. A common error is seeing a compulsory elective subject printed as an optional one, or a completely wrong subject appearing on the card. You must fix this immediately, or you won’t get the question paper for your chosen subject.
⏳ Time is Running Out:
The WBCHSE usually allows corrections only till 30th or 31st January 2026. Once the final roll sheet is generated for exam centers, changes are impossible.
Application Process (Through School)
Do not go to the Council office directly. Follow this channel:
- Step 1: Bring the error to the notice of your School Principal immediately.
- Step 2: Write an application addressed to the Deputy Secretary (WBCHSE) via your School Head.
- Step 3: Attach the Original Admit Card (with error) and a copy of your Registration Certificate (Proof of correct subject).
- Step 4: The school will send a special messenger to the WBCHSE Regional Office (e.g., Salt Lake, Burdwan, Midnapore) to get the corrected card within 48 hours.
