Nabanna vs Uttar Kanya: What is the Difference?

Many students get confused between “Nabanna Scholarship” and “Uttar Kanya Scholarship”. Let’s clear this doubt first.

Basically, both are the SAME scholarship provided by the CM Relief Fund. The only difference is the submission location based on your district:

📍 Uttar Kanya (North Bengal)

Students living in North Bengal districts (Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Malda, Uttar & Dakshin Dinajpur) apply to the “Uttar Kanya” office.

📍 Nabanna (South Bengal)

Students from all other districts in South Bengal (Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Nadia, Murshidabad, Bankura, Purulia, Medinipur, 24 Parganas, etc.) apply to the “Nabanna” office.

Now that you know where you fit in, let’s talk about the most important part—Eligibility Criteria. Can you apply if you are getting Oasis or Aikyashree? Let’s find out.

Who Can Apply? Nabanna Scholarship Eligibility 2026
