Welcome to Set-03: The Constitution Special.

- Emergency Provisions (National & Financial).
- Amendments (Latest changes in law).
- Total Questions: 20

Complete Guide to Indian Polity for SSC GD 2026
Polity is often called the “King of General Studies” in SSC exams. Why? Because unlike History or Current Affairs, the Syllabus of Polity is limited and static. If you memorize the key Articles and Amendments, you can score 100% marks in this section. This Set-03 Mock Test was designed to test your retention power.
1. The 3 Pillars of Preparation
To master this subject for the 2026 exam, you must focus on three pillars:
- Articles: Specific rules mentioned in the Constitution.
- Schedules: Extra details attached to the Constitution (Total 12).
- Sources: Which country inspired which part of our law.
2. Most Repeated Articles (Must Memorize)
Out of 448+ Articles, SSC GD only asks about 30-40 specific ones. Below is the list of Articles that have appeared in previous years (2022-2025):
| Article No. | Subject / Provision |
|---|---|
| Art 14 | Equality before Law |
| Art 17 | Abolition of Untouchability (Very Important) |
| Art 19 | Freedom of Speech & Expression |
| Art 21 | Right to Life and Personal Liberty |
| Art 32 | Constitutional Remedies (Heart & Soul) |
| Art 40 | Organization of Village Panchayats |
| Art 44 | Uniform Civil Code (UCC) |
| Art 51A | Fundamental Duties (Added by 42nd Amendment) |
| Art 61 | Impeachment of the President |
| Art 72 | Pardoning Power of the President |
3. Sources of Indian Constitution
Our Constitution is a bag of borrowings. A frequent question is “Where did we take this concept from?”.
- USA: Fundamental Rights, Judicial Review, Impeachment of President.
- UK (Britain): Parliamentary System, Single Citizenship, Rule of Law.
- Ireland: Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP).
- Germany: Suspension of Fundamental Rights during Emergency.
- South Africa: Amendment Procedure (Article 368).
- Russia (USSR): Fundamental Duties.
4. How to Remember All This?
Memorizing 400+ articles is impossible. The smart way is to use “Mnemonics” (Shortcuts). For example, remember “TEARS OF OLD PM” to learn the 12 Schedules of India. We will share these tricks in our upcoming Set-04 (Reasoning Special) post.
