SSC GD Mock Test 2026 (Set 04) – Reasoning & Logic Practice Set

Welcome to Set-04: The Reasoning Challenge.

So far, you have tested your GK in Set-01, History in Set-02, and Polity in Set-03.

Today, we focus on General Intelligence & Reasoning. This section is the “Game Changer”. Why? Because unlike GK, Reasoning has a definite logic. If you know the trick, you get full marks.

This Mock Test Covers:

  • Verbal Reasoning: Coding-Decoding, Series, Analogy.
  • Logical Reasoning: Syllogism (Statement & Conclusion).
  • Non-Verbal: Odd One Out.
🧠 Brain Teaser Alert: Some questions in this set are tricky. Do not rush.
  • Passing Score: 32/40 (Reasoning is high scoring).
  • Time Limit: Try to solve in 15 Minutes.

Mastering Reasoning for SSC GD 2026

Reasoning (General Intelligence) is the only subject where you can practically score 100% marks in the SSC GD exam. Unlike GK, there is no “out of syllabus” question here. The logic is always hidden within the question itself. In this Set-04 Mock Test, we challenged your logical thinking capability.

1. The “EJOTY” Rule (Must Know Trick)

To solve Coding-Decoding questions quickly, you must remember the position of every alphabet (e.g., A=1, M=13, Z=26). Writing them down during the exam wastes time. Use the EJOTY formula:

Letter Position Trick
E 5 Multiple of 5
J 10 Multiple of 5
O 15 Multiple of 5
T 20 T20 Cricket
Y 25 Last multiple

By remembering these 5 benchmarks, you can find the position of any letter. For example, if you need S, you know T is 20, so S (before T) is 19.

2. Important Topics for 2026

Based on previous year papers (2022-2025), here is the topic-wise weightage for Reasoning:

  • Number Series (2-3 Qs): Look for patterns like “Difference of Difference” or “Square + 1”.
  • Non-Verbal (3-4 Qs): Mirror Images, Embedded Figures, and Paper Folding. (Visual observation is key).
  • Blood Relations (1-2 Qs): Always draw a family tree diagram to solve these. Don’t do it in your head.
  • Mathematical Operations (1 Q): Applying BODMAS rule strictly.

3. Speed Improvement Tips

Reasoning consumes time. To speed up:

  1. Memorize Squares: Numbers 1 to 30 (e.g., 12²=144, 25²=625).
  2. Memorize Cubes: Numbers 1 to 15 (e.g., 5³=125, 9³=729).
  3. Skip Strategy: If you don’t see the logic of a Number Series question within 30 seconds, SKIP IT. Come back to it later. Ego shouldn’t come in between you and your selection.
