WBP SI Selection Process: The 5 Stages

Unlike the Constable exam, the journey to becoming a Sub-Inspector involves 5 rigorous stages. You have to clear each stage to move to the next.

  3. Final Combined Competitive Exam (Mains – Descriptive)
  4. Personality Test (Interview)
  5. Medical Examination

Stage 3: Mains Examination (Descriptive)

This is the Game Changer. Unlike Constable exams, the SI Mains is NOT MCQ. You have to write answers (Pen & Paper mode) like board exams.

(GK: 50, Math: 25, Reasoning: 25)
100 Marks
Paper II English (Descriptive)

Note: You must clear the cut-off in all three papers. The final merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in Mains (200) + Interview (30).

Once you crack the Mains, the final hurdle is the Interview (Personality Test). But what is the Salary that makes all this hard work worth it? And how to apply online without mistakes? Let’s see in the final step.
